Healthy Holidays Calderdale Annual Report Reveals Nearly Double the National Average of Children on Free School Meals Reached

The Department for Education fund the Healthy Holidays (HAF) programme, Calderdale Council deliver it in partnership with CFFC. Different providers run the clubs during the school holidays. Clubs delivered nutritious meals, fun physical activities, emotional wellbeing sessions, enriching experiences, and support which is a life saver for some families.

We have just completed the Annual report and we are so proud of the work that is happening and difference it is making to children and young peoples lives in Calderdale.

Over the last year:

  • 6,934 children and young people took part
  • 1% of participants were eligible for Free School Meals which is almost double the national average of 21.5%
  • From helping children try some foods for the first time, teaching families how to prepare healthy meals, to providing a safe space to try enriching activities, sports, and develop their social skills, this programme is changing lives.
