New CFFC President, Professor Adeeba Malik CBE LL, visits Healthy Holidays camp in Mixenden
We’re delighted that newly appointed Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Professor Adeeba Malik CBE, has also become CFFC’s new President. She takes over from our departing president, and former Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Ed Anderson.
We joined Adeeba on her first official visit on the very first day in her new role as Lord Lieutenant at the Positive Impact Sports Healthy Holidays camp at Ash Green School in Mixenden. Adeeba was accompanied by her Deputy Lieutenants; Neil Davidson MBE, Virginia Lloyd, and John Robins QPM.
We want to thank Adeeba for taking the time to visit one of the Healthy Holidays Calderdale (part of the HAF programme) camps and shining the spotlight on what a worthwhile programme it is. She wasted no time in chatting and engaging with the children as several activities were happening in and around the school, from Lego challenges to sports, and even learning sign language. We also followed the delicious aroma to the school canteen, where hot, healthy meals were being served – another part of the government initiative.
