CFFC are finalists in the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Awards

We have some incredibly exciting news to share with you all. Drumroll, please… We are finalists for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Awards 2023 in the Community Hero of the Year category!

We are thrilled and humbled we are to be recognized for our work in the community. For over thirty years, we’ve been on a mission to make Calderdale the best place to live and work, and being finalists is lovely recognition from the community we serve and love so much. All of our team, Committee Members, Board Members, and volunteers do the work we do to serve Calderdale, not because we want recognition or reward.

One thing that sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to supporting local charities and not-for-profit organizations. In the past year alone, we’ve given out a whopping 288 grants, totalling an impressive £2.6 million! That’s a lot of support going back into the community, and it’s all thanks to your support and our incredible team (yes, we are biased!)

Times are tough, especially with the current Cost of Living Crisis. But we’ve taken some innovative approaches to raise funds so we can keep the momentum going. This financial resilience means we can continue doing what we do best — supporting our community, even when times are challenging.

What truly warms our hearts is the trust you all place in us. We’ve become known as the go-to experts in identifying the most critical areas of need in Calderdale. This trust has brought together donors, the public sector, local authorities, businesses, professional advisors, and, residents. It really is a big team effort.

We’re really proud about the variety and number of projects we’re involved in. From improving housing and reducing homelessness to promoting mental and physical health, we help so many different vast areas to reduce disadvantage.

We are also keen to promote volunteering opportunities. We’re all about building a culture of giving back because we believe that when we come together, amazing things happen. Your time and skills are invaluable, and by inspiring you to share them, we’re creating a stronger, more connected community.

Our motto, “Connecting people who care with local causes that matter,” says it all. It’s not just about funds; it’s about building relationships and connecting hearts for the greater good. We’re in this together, and together, we’re making Calderdale a brighter, better place for all.

We couldn’t have come this far without your support, and for that, we are endlessly grateful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey. Let’s keep making a difference and let’s celebrate being finalists together.
