New Category for the Community Spirit Awards 2022 Announced
Mandy Taylor was a local lady who was full of energy and determination to make a difference to our community. She sadly passed away in December 2021 but her legacy lives on. Harveys of Halifax are sponsoring this new category.

Mandy Taylor was known for several things:
- Her ability to connect with people and win their hearts which helped her to raise over £2 million for local charities,
- She was a determined force of nature and always happy to get stuck in with whatever job needed doing in order to make a difference,
- She generously gifted her time on top of working a 50-hour week and inspired others to care, whether it be through them fundraising or volunteering, or spreading kindness in another way,
- Being a positive ball of energy who was a professional with high standards, but she always brought fun to the party with her excitement, glamour, and sequins, and spreading spread joy.
Known as the Charity Angel, Mandy bravely battled cancer and even when she was undergoing treatment, she was always there to help others, continuing to volunteer at foodbanks, other peoples’ fundraisers and charity events, (including the Community Spirit Awards), without want for reward or recognition.
Before she passed away, Mandy was awarded an MBE for her services to the community and she also left a legacy encouraging people to #BeMoreMandy.
This category is new for 2022 and will be awarded to a person or organisation that follows Mandy Taylor’s way of life; fundraising significant amounts, volunteering extensively, inspiring others, and touching countless peoples’ lives with joy and kindness.
