Calderdale fire station ignite confidence in children in school holiday adventure

Healthy Holidays Calderdale partnered with West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service to deliver a targeted intervention day for young people taking part in the Healthy Holidays Calderdale programme. The Healthy Holidays Calderdale programme is funded by DfE and CFFC support with administering the grant process, publicising, auditing, and contributing to strategic planning.

This session was a hands-on confidence building session aiming to reduce the number of specific issues a local area experiences through an engaged and challenging activity for the young people involved. Throughout the day, the young people were given the chance to work together to solve problems, which helped them gain confidence to try something new, and importantly, build a relationship with their local fire station.

The young people absolutely loved it and took their roles very seriously.

Healthy Holidays Calderdale are looking forward to working with WYFRS moving into the summer #HAF2024 programme.
