August Member Networking Event
Appleyard Lees sponsored the August CFFC membership networking event which we held at Southwood Club. Over 50 people came together to enjoy open networking and then they were updated on what was happening at CFFC over a buffet lunch.
Rachel Garrod from Appleyard Lees gave an insightful presentation about the difference between patents, trademarks, and copyright and included the interesting back story of why Percy Shaw invented Cats Eyes. Lisa Kempster won the prize for correctly answering that Cuthbert was the name of the cake from Aldi that M&S filed a law suit against. As we are a charity and we spend money very prudently, the prize was a mini Colin the Catepillar cake, not a full size one.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Calderdale Councillor Ashley Evans and his wife Madam Mayor Rosie Tatchell joined us to share information about how we can get involved with the Mayor of Calderdale Fund.
Another meeting full of lovely people connecting people who care with causes that matter.
