How a Gift in Your Will Can Change Lives in Calderdale

We recently held a special Wills event at the beautiful Halifax Town Hall, and we connected people who care about making a difference and creating a lasting legacy, even when they are gone.

The evening brought together people who care about Calderdale and want to make sure it stays a great place to live, both now and in the future. Everyone who came along got the chance to hear from a panel of experts who answered questions about Wills and explained how leaving a gift to charity in your Will can make a huge difference.

One of the most interesting points was that if you leave 10% or more of your estate (everything you own when you pass away) to charity, the inheritance tax rate goes down from 40% to 36%. That means your loved ones could end up paying less tax, and your gift could go even further.

The best part of the evening was seeing how many people care about the future of Calderdale. Some are already donors, others were just starting to think about what kind of legacy they want to leave. But all of them had one thing in common and that is that they want to make a real difference.
