Household Support Fund

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has allocated Calderdale Council (CMBC) funds to support people experiencing hardship:

The objective of the Household Support Fund is to provide support to vulnerable households in most need of support to help with significantly rising living costs. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/household-support-fund-guidance-for-local-councils/household-support-fund-final-guidance-for-county-councils-and-unitary-authorities-in-england#reporting-requirements

Government guidance stipulates how the fund should be used:

It is expected that the focus of support should be on bills and food

Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC) has provided some match funding to increase the amount of funds available to £60,000

The majority of funds must be spent by 30th September 2022 as required by the Government. The match funding from CFFC can be spent up to the end of 2022. If you are successful in your application, your award notification letter will state when your allocation needs to be spent by.

You can apply for up to £5,000 but please ensure you can spend the amount you apply for by 30th September 2022 or DWP will reclaim the funds.

The DWP require detailed monitoring for expenditure on this fund. Please read the guidance to check you are able to complete the monitoring required before applying.
